peace,comfort and enjoyment.
Whatever you look for in a holiday, our charismatic 19th century cottage, lying in the centre of the beautiful Northumbrian countryside, will provide you with memories to treasure.
Tastefully furnished, 'Charlie's Place' has been recently renovated (2007) to provide the discerning holiday maker with a home from home.

The Cottage is centrally heated throughout and the welcoming lounge/diner features a real fire for winter evenings. The kitchen has a hob, oven, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, washer, and a small breakfast area.
Upstairs, there are two bedrooms, a double and a single, both with ample storage and stylishly furnished.

The new bathroom has a shower over the bath, is contemporary in style
and offers complementary bath and shower treats. (A hair dryer is provided.)

The large cottage style garden offers the best of the day's sun, unbroken views of the countryside beyond, and includes a barbeque and table and chairs for outdoor eating. Help yourself to fresh blackcurrants in summer and to end the day sit back and watch the breathtaking sunsets at the end of the garden!

Belford is a traditional Northumbrian village and the cottage is situated a pleasant two minutes walk from the centre.
There are several good pubs and a restaurant at the local golf club serving tasty food, a delightful coffee shop with 'home baked' cakes and fresh sandwiches (highly recommended), art gallery/gift shop, fish and chip shop (serving battered haggis too!) and a well stocked Co-op store for all your
self catering needs.

The cottage is only a ten minute drive from the magnificent Bamburgh coastline.
Explore rambling summer walks from the doorstep, indulge in the history of the Holy Island - Lindesfarne - or the Castles of Bamburgh and Alnwick.
Children and adults alike are always amazed by the endless, uncrowded, clean, golden sandy beaches, where days can be spent building castles, enjoying picnics, paddling or dipping into the fascinating world of the rock-pools. Kite-flying, surfing and wind-surfing are just some of the activites on offer for the more adventurous. Set to the stunning back-drop of Bamburgh Castle, the beach is famous for its unique setting. We have left details of where to find our own lesser trodden coves (but don't tell everyone!)
Nature-lovers can venture further to admire the stunning Saint Abbs clifftops or take a boat trip to the Farne Isles to watch seals, puffins and an unrivalled number of native seabirds. (A hard-hat may be a necessity in the nesting season!)
Edinburgh is only an hour away by car or there is a station in Berwick-upon-Tweed from where you can be taken right into the heart of this wonderful vibrant city.
Alternatively, sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful views over nearby hills and meadows from the privacy of our cottage garden. We fell in love with Northumberland's special charm on our first holiday there seven years ago, and are certain you will too.
